Chill Placement Assist allows users to combine multiple data assets into easily switchable categories using data tables. These tables enable users to add previously set-up data assets and assign them custom names.
If you have the table selected in the tool, you can switch between the data assets added to it. For optimal effect, you would create a data table per category, theme, or biome and fill it with data assets for specific object types, such as "Rocks," "DecorProps," etc.
In the Content Browser, right-click, hover over Miscellaneous, and click on Data Table.
Or type "Data Table" in the search bar at the panel's top.
Select the "PlacementDataAssetRow" Row Structure for the Data Table.
You will initially have an empty data table. Press on the add button in the top bar to start adding your data assets into the table:
Next, press twice on the NewRow text underneath Row Name to adjust the name from this row/data asset:
Next, click on none underneath Placement Settings Data Asset to select the row, which allows you to adjust the assigned data asset:
Next, click to open the dropdown and select which data asset you want to assign to this row in the table:
Finally, repeat until you have added all data assets you wish to add to a data table.
Open the Placement Assist editor tool and scroll down to the Placement Selection category in the settings.
Click on the dropdown next to Placement Selection Mode and choose DataTable:
Next, underneath the Placement Assets Table, click on the dropdown next to Data Table and select the data table you wish to use with the tool currently:
Finally, next to Row Name select the name you provided in the Data Table configuration for the data asset you currently wish the tool to use:
